Synopsis
' Worker’s Band' was formed by Indonesian migrant workers living in Korea who wanted to be a voice against current Korean migrant worker labor conditions. But their reason for being soon shifted from fighting for change, to realizing musical ambitions. Their dream to perform as professional musicians came true after the director of this documentary and his Canadian friend joined the band. What follows is a touching look at a young Indonesian band trying to fulfill a musical dream in Korea.
Director's Note
Although migrant labors have hard work conditions, they form bank called ' Worker' s Band"and enjoy the music and playing. Members of band continued to meet each other because of their passion for music. In Korea, migrant workers are generally considered as outsiders, but I wanted to show that they also have dreams like everybody else. This documentary is a celebration of music and what it means to follow a dream. I hope you enjoy it
