The painter is striving to paint what is closest to the real him.

The studio of a painter, Yoong-hyuk Hong. 2 years ago, about 10 years worth of his works had

been burnt down due to a fire in his studio. He was slowly recovering from his loss. I received a call from him saying he had opened a new studio. So I decided to pay him a visit. I was watching him draw a portrait of himself from behind and suddenly, a strange feeling came over me. A sight of a painter’s back, his painting, and the reflection of him from the mirror had hit me with an unfamiliar emotion. I wish to convey what I felt on that day through this film.
